Music Group

We brought a group of kids and adults to walk in nearby mountain trail and to play music. The hostel is absolutely beautiful. The living room area is perfect for a group , roaring fire cosy couches. The hostel is luxury all the way and we will definitely be back. It is located in lovely small safe town and close to beautiful scenery. The rooms are fab and our kids loved the whole layout of the hostel. Thanks again for a brilliant time.

We will be back!

I couldn't put into words how great this place is. We stayed here with 30 children that we took away for the night that are all learning music instruments. Our only rule with the kids coming was that phones & tablets stayed at home. We had such a great time, its just a lovely safe environment, with loads of various games to play with. It felt at home immediately when you walked thru the doors and met with Seamus & Teresa. Their facilities was just top class. I was just blown away with their kitchen, they seemed to have thought of everything. The only piece of advice I can give you Seamus & Teresa is stay doing exactly what you’re doing.

Choir Weekend

Our choir took over the hostel for the weekend - arriving on Friday afternoon and leaving on Sunday midday. We had a ball. Everything you could want and need was there. The hostel was spotless, comfortable and ample amenities for us all. Seamus was always on hand to offer help and guidance. The village is lovely and very welcoming - especially when we invaded a local inn and insisted on singing!Would highly recommend

Top Class Accommodation

Every year our choir have a weekend away to socialise and practice, and this year we chose Ballyhoura Hostel in Kilfinane. And I must say, it was the best choice we could have made! In the lead up to the weekend, the owners Séamus and Teresa were extremely helpful in helping with the organisation both in the run up to the weekend and during, including suggesting a lovely venue for our practices at the Old Chapel Rooms, a de-consecrated church just a couple of minutes walkaway, which turned out to be ideal, and suggesting which pubs to visit! The hostel itself is, as the title suggests, top class. Spacious and clean accommodation, plentiful shower and toilet facilities, and a kitchen which our designated chef was (literally) singing praises over. The dining room fit all of us perfectly, and they a lovely sitting room which provided a much needed quiet room for those who needed some time out from all the revelry.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in the area, for small groups or large, from stags to birthdays to choir weekends away. We shall endeavor to go back there as soon as possible!

Perfect venue for a group weekend away in a beautiful setting.

This was my second visit to the Ballyhoura Hostel with the Choral Confusion choir from Cork, and it was even better than the first time. Forty members of our loud and boisterous choir descended on this tranquil village and we were welcomed with open arms.

The hostel is bright, clean and very roomy. A well equipped kitchen, a large airy common room, comfy beds, a cosy lounge and loads of hot showers make this perfect place to spend time with colleagues.

Everything is new, in working order and well maintained. And of course, Seamus is very helpful and welcoming.

I hope we're back there again next year.

Exceptional! Highly Recommend

We brought a group of teenagers here for 3 days and can't recommend it enough. From the time we booked to when we left the carpark, Seamus and Teresa were the most friendly and welcoming hosts ever (especially considering our group!) The facilities are state of the art and everywhere was immaculately clean. The bathrooms and individual showers were plenty and spotless. Towels and bedclothes were all crisp white and super soft. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bunks have huge space in between for taller people! The whole place is designed with stunning woodwork all made by Seamus and gives a lovely homely feel. The kitchen is fully stocked with every utensil you might need and also a lot of extra food supplies! Seamus and Teresa are full of local information but also tourist attractions further afield that you might want to visit. They aren't put off by singing or music (supplying guitars and a piano)in fact they enjoy the hostel being full of life. They welcome all types of groups from school and youth groups to stag and hens and make everyone feel so welcome! Our young people were so impressed they they remembered all their names, weren't strict and were 'up for a laugh' !! We will definitely return and will recommend it to everyone we know.
