Group Accommodation

Kilfinane is in a peaceful, rural setting, and is the highest village in County Limerick, set in the Ballyhoura Mountains. There are shops, restaurant, and pubs just a stroll up the street which makes for an enjoyable and very safe destination off the beaten track. This hidden gem has only recently been discovered as a tourism destination so it’s really authentic, non-commercial, with a touch of the ‘Auld Ireland’ about it. The locals offer a warm and genuine welcome.

Off the beaten path.

Centrally located in Southern Ireland, making an ideal base for touring groups to make day trips to some of the countries busy tourist hotspots. Less than an hour away from The Rock of Cashel, Killarney,  Blarney Stone, Cork & Limerick city and only 2 hours from Dublin’s M50. Just 1 ½ hours from The Ring of Kerry, Dingle, The Cliffs of Moher, Kilkenny, Galway and Waterford cities and under an hour from Cork and Shannon airports. School Trip to Ireland

Just returned from a most wonderful 2 week stay at the luxury Ballyhoura Hostel. The owners Seamus and Teresa were the kindest hosts, extremely helpful and understanding and always willing to get involved in our action packed summer camp. The hostel itself is second to none: lovely spacious rooms, extremely comfortable beds and bedding, nice hot showers, a great communal area to relax in and a fully equipped kitchen. The eating area has the most magnificent furniture and has ample space for playing games in the evening or even, in our case, teaching 15 teenagers.

Would definitely recommend this gem in the Emerald Isle for anyone looking for a comfortable yet fun place to stay.

Wonderful site, superb hosts

We brought a group of 25 college students and 2 faculty to stay for 5 nights. This was the perfect place for us to stay. Access to the Centra (groceries & ATM) and the town pubs were within a quick walk. The facilities are spacious and beautiful - and will probably put to shame any other hostel. To top it all off, Seamus and Teresa are some of the most warm, welcoming people. I would highly recommend staying here!

P.S Do the 2 and a half hour horse trek with Ballyhoura Horse Trekking, visit JJ's Brewery tour in Kilmallock, and eat at "The Castle" ! Enjoy!

Girlguiding Anglia - ICE trip

We had 3 leaders and 20 guides, Seamus and Theresa were amazing, nothing too much. We used their contacts and knowledge so we had an amazing time (communuity service, Lough Gur, local coach company etc). the hostel we had to ourselves and everything was really clean, the girls loved chilling out in the lounge. Definitely on our list to re-visit with other guides.
