Group booking for 50th Birthday celebrations

What an awesome place. Seamus and Theresa are the ultimate hosts. The accommodation is 5 star for a hostel. Rooms are spotless, showers and toilets the same and so modern. The kitchen and dining facilities are enormous with all mod cons and were so good to accommodate a group booking/party. also, there is a beautiful cosy lounge where you can relax and watch TV or play games if you are outside enjoying the awesome countryside or in one of the many pubs. The people of Kilfinane are so welcoming and friendly, there is a great supermarket where you can get so much fresh food, it opens til 8 pm except Sundays. We ate in Mollies a top class restaurant- very reasonable and there is also a takeaway which has a vast menu and again, the food was awesome. Overall, one of the best weekends away I have ever had.

Superb Experience & Exceptional Irish hospitality

Teresa and Séamus at Ballyhoura Luxury Hostel provide Irish hospitality at its best.  From the warm welcome on arrival to the fond farewell as you leave this is a wonderful hostel.

The rooms and facilities are spotless with great care and attention.  The quality of the beds were superb and the bed sheets are of a high quality.  We travelled as a large group of different families which could have been intimidating for other travellers but Teresa ensured that all travellers were looked after.  The kitchen is extremely well equipped with all you need.  We like our coffee and there are plenty of coffee plungers for all to use.

For your evening entertainment there is a piano & guitar in the dining room along with a number of board games to keep everyone entertained.  On arrival Teresa ensured that there was a lovely welcoming fire which our group enjoyed after a day of mountain biking.  Another plus for travellers is that there is free wifi that works!!!, having travelled this summer in Bolivia this was a plus that our teenagers appreciated.

Top class!

Was part of the 16 Adults and 19 Kids that stayed in Ballyhoura over the New Year. (Already reviewed by the great Tony L) Just want to add that it is a stunning place to visit and stay. Have travelled a far bit thru Europe, Africa and Roscommon and have to say that it is by far the most impressive hostel that I have stayed in. Everything was spotless, despite the best efforts of the 19 kids!!. Seamus and Theresa were superb hosts and actually knew all our names by the end of the trip. Not sure if that’s a good sign or a bad sign!!!

We did some walking albeit in very bad weather but there are fantastic local walks to keep you busy. Plenty of pubs in the town aswell but they don’t serve Beamish (for any hardened Corkonians heading there!!)

Will definitely be going back at some stage in the not too distant future.

Well done Seamus & Theresa. And thank you very much for your help and consideration will all the gang.
